1. Catholic social teaching states the importance of
reflecting on the changing situations of the world and applying Gospel
principles to it.
2. Nations need to revise their relationships to work for
greater justice.
3. The excessive concentration of means and powers in
private multi-national companies can lead to a new and abusive form of economic
domination on the social, cultural and political level.
4. Liberation starts with the interior freedom from goods
and power. It can only be found through love and service for humankind.
5. There is a need to
move from economics to politics. The political power must be for the common
good.
6. Christians who are called to take up political activity
should try to make their choices consistent with the
Gospel.
7. This involvement in politics also demands a greater
sharing in responsibility and decision-making.
